1800's Tortoiseshell Tea Caddy with Silver Stringing Lines and Ivory Bands
Price On Request
Dimensions (cm): 26 x 11 x 14.5 Year: 1800 A Regency tortoiseshell Tea Caddy with silver stringing lines and ivory bands, the domed top centred by a silver rectangular plaque, over a domed front with canted sides, the interior with two tortoiseshell lidded compartments with ivory finials, on silver plated ball feet. Two features of this delightful tea caddy make it stand out from others of the Regency period: the combination of domed top, domed front and canted angles combine to make a complicated shape to make; the delicate silver stringing lines combined with the white ivory to form a colored contrast to the mottled tortoiseshell. The overall effect is one of elegance and quiet sophistication. Bar Code: 10188
