Maserati Tipo 61 1960 Cuba GP #7 Moss

US$330.00

Few sports cars of the 1960’s have amassed a more legendary status than the Maserati Tipo 61 Birdcage. Designed by Giulio Alfieri, the 2.9-liter engine featured a sophisticated tubular spaceframe chassis that was very strong yet extremely lightweight. While it did not have the greatest horsepower of its day, its handling was superior and could be used to great effect. At the Cuban Grand Prix of 1960, Stirling Moss was invited to drive for the Camoradi team (a USA private team) and drove a Maserati Tip 61 Birdcage with starting #7. He claimed an impressive victory outpacing Pedro Rodriguez who came second in a Ferrari 250 TR 59 and Masten Gregory who came in third in a Porsche 718.

This CMC Maserati Tipo 61 Birdcage Winner GP Cuba/Havanna 1960 Moss offers discerning collectors and vintage racing enthusiasts the opportunity to keep the spirit of the vehicle’s outstanding history alive. Limited edition of 1,500 units, our supply of this model is limited.
