The Ferrari 330 series consisted of a range of successful models, all powered by the famous V12 Colombo power plant, this time in a 4.0 L configuration. The engine was an evolution of the one in the 400 Superamerica, it was substantially changed, with wider bore spacing and an alternator replacing a generator.

The first car in the series was the 2+2 330 America, which was a 250 GTE with a larger 4.0 litre engine. The name 330 refers to the approximate displacement of each cylinder, 12 times that resulting in around 4.0 L. The engine could produce around 300 HP at 6.600 RPM. About 50 cars were built before being replaced by the larger 330 GT 2+2.

This replacement, the 330 GT 2+2, was first shown to the world at the Brussels Auto Show, early in 1964. It brought a lot the table and turned out to be much more than a re-engined 250, however, with a sharper nose and tail, quad headlights, and a wide grille. The wheelbase was 50 mm longer, but Koni adjustable shock absorbers improved its handling. A dual-circuit Dunlop braking system was used with discs all around, though it separated brakes front to back rather than diagonally as on most modern systems.

In 1965 the Series II version was introduced, it featured a five-speed gearbox instead of the overdrive four-speed of the prior year. Other changes included the switch back to a dual-light instead of quad-light front clip, alloy wheels, and the addition of optional air conditioning and power steering. Prior to the introduction of the 'Series II' 330 GTs, a series of 125 'interim' cars were produced, with the quad-headlight external configuration of the Series I cars, but with the five-speed transmission and 'suspended' foot pedals of the 'Series II' cars.

625 Series I (including 125 'interim' cars) and 455 Series II 330 GT 2+2 cars had been built when the car was replaced by the 365 GT 2+2 in 1967. Production of the smaller 330 GTC and GTS models overlapped with the GT 2+2 for more than a year.

Sold new in Napoli Italy in june 1964 it stayed in Italy in Firenze until it was was imported in Belgium 3 years ago. It has a well known ownership history from new.

On a long test drive (200km) the car performed very well with a strong engine with excellent oil pressure combined with a smooth working gearbox.

The car has Belgian registration papers. The car has a FIVA passport to enter historic rallies.

In 2014 it had 78.630 km on clock and now recorded mileage is only 83.500 km. The car participated among others at the Zoute Grand Prix in Belgium.

Well maintained this is a nice and original Ferrari 12 cilinder.
