### OVERVIEW

**1972 Ferrari 365 GTC/4**
VIN: 15815

In July of 1972 this 365 GTC/4, serial number 15815, assembly sequence 481, Pininfarina body 463/GTC rolled out of the Ferrari factory in Maranello. One of only 180 ever shipped to US, its first stop would be Bill Harrah's US West Coast Ferrari distributorship, Modern Classic Motors in Reno, Nevada. There James Boccardo of Los Gatos, CA would become 15815's first owner. A flamboyant trial-attorney and exotic car owner, Boccardo would own the C/4 for the next 28 years.

In January of 2001 the Ferrari would find a new owner, John Ridings Lee of Dallas, TX. Now with only 22,000 miles on the odometer, and still in its original Grigio Argento paint and with its Nero Cogolo/Panno 22 interior the car was entered into Ferrari Club of America's 2001 National Meet in Dallas, where it won the Preservation Award.

Five years and 13,000 miles on, 15815 was again for sale and would come into the possession of Steven E. Young, a Los Angeles attorney and vintage racer who would later become Chairman of the Petersen Automotive Museum. His ownership would be brief, and the C/4 would end up in the experienced hands of Fiat 8V Supersonic expert Erik Nielsen.

Nielsen would keep the car for the next seven years, adding only another 1,000 miles. In that time he would show the car at the 2010 Ironstone Concours d'Elegance where it won best in class for Postwar Coachbuilt cars.

The C/4's most recent owner had Sportscar Italiano of Burlingame, CA do a mechanical freshening for 2015. Engine work included adjusting the valves, rebuilding all 6 carburetors, installing a new timing chain, rebuilding the distributors, new engine mounts, front crank shaft seal, spark plugs, belts, air filters, new high pressure oil hose, and the starter was rebuilt. The brakes received new front and rear pads, and brake hoses all around. The air conditioning system was fitted with a new compressor and drier. And finally a new heater valve and battery were installed.

Since arriving at Canepa this fantastic example of Ferrari's early 1970s grand touring V12 coupe has been mechanically and cosmetically inspected and is in amazing condition. A complete Canepa Difference concours detail has been done to the car, paying special attention to maintain all of the original finishes and paint.

With only 505 ever made, the C/4 is a rare car, even among Ferraris. The exceptional unrestored and original condition of this low-mileage car makes it even more of a standout.
