Built to prove a point to Enzo Ferrari and the other sports car manufacturers of the day, the Miura was developed by  Ferruccio Lamborghini and a team of young engineers in the mid 60's. The Miura utilised what was an uncommon and revolutionary design, placing a laterally mounted V12 in the centre of the vehicle. The Miura was designed by Marcello Gandini at Bertone, and the result was what people call the most beautiful vehicle of all time. The looks and performance of the Miura combined to leave other manufacturers scrambling and set a new benchmark for what a sports car could be.
