Gateway Classic Cars of St. Louis is proud to offer a very nice 1965 Ford Mustang GT. Ford got the formula right when they introduced the Falcon based Mustang in 1964. There was a Mustang for every buyer thanks to the 3 different body styles and enormous options list. This particular coupe is equipped with the GT package. This package was only available with the A-Code or K-Code V8 engines. This particular example sports the A-Code 289 CID V8 which features a four barrel carburetor and dual exhaust and outputs 225 Horsepower. For a very desirable combination, this one mates up to a 4 speed manual transmission. Adding to the desirable options on this car is the factory AC. It's nice to hop in a 50 year old car and have the AC blowing cold. This one sports a newer compressor, but the original is included. The car is finished is possibly the most iconic Mustang color: Wimbledon white. Black rocker stripes and black Shelby style racing stripes give a really attractive look. Shelby style "bullet" mirrors also add to the sporty appearance. The Mustang GT sits on a set of American Racing wheels wrapped in healthy radial tires. The car has all the options the performance enthusiast would appreciate: the 289 V8, 4 speed manual trans, Rally Pac tachometer and clock, and air conditioning. This is a very well cared for example of a first generation GT coupe.
