1965 Ford Mustang (64 1/2) 289 CID V8 D Code 2 Speed Automatic

US$27,995.00

Up for sale in our Tampa Showroom is a super rare, special order 1964 1/2 Ford Mustang. With Ford losing all of it's documentation up to 1966, decoding this Mustang isn't easy, however, Ford did keep track of one thing, Pink Mustangs were sold without paint codes. Ford has been using the color pink since 1955, making their Thunderbirds fit into the classy and innocent color schemes of the 1950's. In 1964, Ford produced a single documented Mustang for Donna Michelle, the 1964 Playboy Playmate of the Year, but contrary to modern belief, Ford never documented the color until 1967 as Playboy Pink. During this generation of Mustangs, Ford had produced between 3 different shades of Pink including Dusk Rose, and Tussy, and each one didn't document a color code on the trim tag until 1967. The good news is, despite having a hard time documenting a car like this, it is verified with the DSO number that it was a special order Pink Mustang, from Los Angeles, CA. This one is a real special breed as well, since 1964 1/2 saw the D Code 289 CID V8 to be a powerful V8 for this year, which was the highest performance option available at the time, and only produced during the latter half of the production time. The transmission is a C4 automatic 3-speed, found to be the most popular option amongst these cars during this generation. The interior of the car is done in original Black Vinyl seating, giving the car a very classy look with a fashionable pink exterior and a black interior.
