A total of eighty nine S1 Continental Drophead Coupes were built by Park Ward and this example is one of only two coupes modelled to drophead specification by Barrie Price (founder of the Rolls Royce and Bentley specialist association) and is indistinguishable from a factory built example. The current owner (a collector well known to us) purchased the car in 2000 and then commissioned a total restoration by leading marque experts over a period of three years, all of which is documented in the extensive history file. In 2003 the car attended the annual Rolls Royce and Bentley concours at Towcester Race Course where it not only won its class but was then voted the overall 'most elegant car in show' a testimony to its superb condition and detail in every respect. The restoration included an engine and drivetrain rebuild, bare metal repainting, floor and boot pan re-riveting, new trim, hood and carpets, re-chroming and all woodwork restored and re-polished. Since the restoration it has been used regularly but sparingly as it formed part of the current owner's collection and drives as good as it looks. The car is finished in Connaught Green, a correct period colour with a dark Green hood with Tan interior, a stunning combination. As well as the extensive history file, all big and small tools along with the original owners' handbook are present and correct. We are delighted to offer this very rare opportunity representing outstanding value from that being asked for a factory built example. This car has to be seen and driven in person to be truly appreciated.
