Kaare Klint designed this easy chair with a loose seat cushion for an upholstered furniture competition organized by the Upholsterers' Guild to celebrate the Guild's 475th anniversary in 1936. The chair was first exhibited in 1937

The easy chair is produced in mahogany and upholstered in goat hide, oxhide, or fabric, as requested. The chair is finished with piping.

Regarded as the godfather of modern Danish design, Kaare Klint (1888-1954) made a name for himself as a furniture designer in the early 1900s. He was responsible for such design icons as the world-renowned Safari Chair and the Faaborg Chair, and for the overall design of the Danish Pavilion at the 1929 Barcelona International Exposition
