A Regency tortoiseshell and ivory strung single tea caddy of decagonal form, the top centred by a silver rounded handle within a delicate star and flowerhead silver inlaid band, the front with a vacant navette-shaped cartouche within a harebell-shaped line band, the interior with an ivory finial to the mahogany lid.
Decagonal tea caddies of this form are extremely rare. A very similar example sold at auction in 2008 for a hammer price of £4,500.
