The Medicine Fields
US$80.79
A summer sunset lights up a gorgeous field of poppies in Oxfordshire. Cultivated for medicinal purposes, in the rolling hills of the English countryside, this area is a delight for the eyes.â A.B.Adam Burton favours the undulating colours of sunset, when the natural light diffuses a rare and unique atmospheric glow. While he now works mainly in digital, he started out in analogue, which spurs the photographerâs ongoing desire to bring out the best in nature itself, without adding more. Equipped with Nikon cameras and many different lenses, he is thus able to capture what he calls âmagic momentsâ, landscapes with great authenticity that do not require digital touch-ups after capture.**The artist: Adam Burton**Considered one of the foremost photographers of the British landscape, Adam Burton has travelled across the globe to capture natural environments on a large scale. A self-taught photographer, he started learning the relevant techniques in 2001, mainly by reading specialist magazines and practising in situ, in the New Forest or along the coast of Dorset. This informal training enabled him to develop an instantly recognisable and unique style and signature that is now well known. Since 2004, his photographs have been published in newspapers and have graced the covers of more than 200 magazines. He has practised photography full time since 2008, publishing a number of books on his work, that in recent years have focused on the southwest of England, his native country. The artist was awarded numerous prizes, notably the prestigious annual International Garden Photographer competition in 2013.

US$80.79 The photograph taken in Palm Springs is reminiscent of the world of the writer Bret Easton Ellis. The character is anonymous and archetypal. Whilst the face does not convey any emotion, the decor and situation reveal silence, tension and melancholy. US$80.79 The face of he forlorn and melancholic character is redundant in Phaedra Brodyâs work. Inward looking, she seems vacant. This artistâs feminine figure is a Hitchcock blonde. With an icy beauty, she is unapproachable and trivial, as well as sacred and savage. If not sensual, her sexual dimension is suggested and associated with dangerousness. The lack of explanation, of...
