Antique Victorian Walnut Credenza Sevres Plaques c.1860
US$6,360.02 This is a superb antique Victorian burr walnut and inlaid credenza, circa 1860 in date. Oozing sophistication and charm, this credenza is the absolute epitome of Victorian high society. The entire piece highlights the unique and truly exceptional pattern of the burr walnut and this is further complimented by the tulipwood and amboyna crossbanding, the elegant satinwood inlaid decoration, the beautiful hand painted Sevres porcelain plaques and the elegant ormolu mounts . It has elegant curved glass bow end doors on either side and a panelled door in the centre with a beautiful hand painted Sevres style porcelain plaque depicting a courting couple with a pair of smaller plaques above, and fabulous ormolu mounts. An elegant pair of inlaid half columns flank the central door.The interior has been lined in an elegant blue fabric. The central door opens to reveal two shelves and plenty of storage space for drinks, glasses, crockery, etc,. This is a stunning piece which is sure to attract a lot of attention.
