Provenance
Commissioned for the Iranian Royal Family
The celebrated French firm founded by Frederic Boucheron in 1858 has always been favoured by his royal and imperial patrons. In 1930, Louis Boucheron was commissioned by the Shah of Iran to assess the Royal Treasure of Iran, one of the world's most fabulous treasures, including a solid gold throne entirely set with precious gems and a terrestrial globe set with 51,336 stones. Louis Boucheron took several months to complete the appraisal, whose final total was kept secret, after which he, and his descendants, were made the official Curators and Guardians of the Iranian Treasure.
