Beautiful 18th century Comtoise with plate dial and cast ornament.Clock strikes every half and full hour on bell, no repetition on full hours.Half hourly striking mechanism via rack.Case has beautiful smooth doors and back plate and a nicely slender hand-sawn steel hand.The "beard" is signed with 'Guieteand a Macon'. The clock has been fully restored and cleaned, and has also been fitted with new red cords,old weights and wire pendulum with weight.Separate casting, the rooster was probably removed during the French revolution and got replaced by the ornament it has now. The original dial has been restored, but not to a perfect condition to keep part of the charm of its age.This clock runs and strikes as it should!Clock comes with chair and key. This clock, with just an hour hand and a signed bear, is all things included a rare sight which you don't see often anymore. The photos are part of the description.Measurements of the clock case:Height: 23.5 cm.Width: 22.5 cm.Depth: 13.5 cm.Height including casting: 39 cm.Length of pendulum 132 cm.Clock can be shipped, well-packaged and insured, but pick-up in Almelo or Albergen (the Netherlands) is preferred.Outside of the EU, the clock can only be shipped registered, and insured up to €500. Therefore it will be shipped in two packages to buyers outside the EU.
