This is an interesting set of five Chinese antique panels, circa 1890. The panels are carved in solid wood. They are painted in red lacquer with gilded highlight which have partially faded over the years. They are profusely decorated with figures and foliage, set against rural surroundings. Most likely these panels used to be part of an item of furniture and decorated doors or beds. The panels are set in later frames. It is an interesting set with an oriental feel.
