Paris Contemporary Art Fair
As the season’s shifts in “Paname” art crazies, collectors are filled with antsy for the annual Paris modern art fair. It is one of the three most important art fairs in the world, The Foire International d’Art Contemporain (FIAC). It is something that will leave Paris busy and excited for the four days between October 19th and 22nd.
On average, about 180 galleries from 25 different countries transform the capital into an art fest. Thus, in order to showcase exquisite works of art. In total, approximately 1500 artists showcase their works to the audience of 70,000 along the aisles of Petit Palais, Grand Palais, Tuileries Gardens and even Place Vendome. All of these are the world-famous legacy of Paname. The fair also provides opportunities to new raw talent from established galleries such as Max Hetzler and Massimo Minini.
With the fair comes numerous opportunities both for the artists, the collectors and even the art lovers who just come to enjoy seeing the artwork. For the artists, the fair offers the opportunity for artists from French origin with the admired Marcel Duchamp Prize; and with it comes international recognition for the artist and his/her works. For the collectors, FIAC is a marketplace where professionals can buy art at prices. Sometimes make a headline in the press. Some of the artwork is quite expensive ranging from 200,000 to 3.75 EUR. However, there is still affordable art which is only 100 Euros. This kind of affordable art make for half of the arts sells at most fairs.
The public in Paris and even tourists during this time get the opportunity to ascertain the newest developments in contemporary art. The best part of the fair is that the city of lights exudes art beyond the busy market. The galleries and museums add flavor to the art cultural environment. And in this way complement the four day fair with the beauty of the city.
Paris through FIAC has retained its outstanding image in the art world with its contemporary art scene compared to New York and London; the exquisite exhibitions which standout. Visitors not only come from France alone but travel from all over the world just to have a glimpse of the annual event. When we compare to last year, the facts show as that Paris needs to work on how it’s going to influence its art market. It is because most of the vast collectors were not French but foreigners.
Art continues morphing from the orthodox way and is taking contemporary approach when it comes to painting and even sculpturing. Thus, there’s no doubt that FAIC is the right platform for new artists to showcase their works to the world. Also, a chance to introduce us to a modern world of art. It has also been an opportunity through the years for prominent artists to meet and share ideas of their works. Also, to challenge one another on how they can revolutionize the art scene.
With FAIC art is showcased and born.
