A few kilometres from the city of Ravenna, in Emilia Romagna, we find this enchanting castle, rich in history.
This luxurious residence dates back to the 17th century and has preserved most of its original period features.
The living quarters are on three levels and feature square terracotta tiled flooring, bare beamed ceilings, wood and glass doors and windows and splendid frescos in the reception halls.
The building is completely refurbished in order to host grand ceremonies and events of all kinds in a unique atmosphere, where time literally stopped at the time of the Renaissance.
The castle features 3 entrances for vehicles and 5 doorways. Grand ornamental statues of horses and lions guard the main entrances.
During the 17th century this site featured only a grand country house and only the north facing part of the castle. In 1882 the duke, who was the owner felt it was necessary to embellish what was then a simple manor house and, with the help of an engineer, he decided to build an actual castle in medieval style, surrounded by imposing walls, which then became the official residence of his dukedom. During the 1800s the building underwent important transformations, particularly regarding the internal spaces, becoming an ideal place for leisure and entertainment.
This new use needed larger reception halls in order to accommodate a large number of more prestigious guests.
This reconstructions radically changed the features of the property, building the whole part of the castle anew. Where the service rooms once were we now find the tower, the grand reception hall and the dining room. In spite of the many different owners and the structural changes undergone in time, this splendid castle for sale has preserved its incredible charm and continues to enchant all visitors.
