1951 Cadillac Series 62 331 CID V8 Hydra-Matic 4 Speed Automatic
US$23,995.00 This 1951 Cadillac Series 62 is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. The series 62 was produced by Cadillac from 1940 to 1976, renamed as the Calais in 64 but a series 62 all the same. The 48-53 models would mark the 3rd rendition of the 62. Now sharing the same platform as the 61 the two cars were now virtually identical. The 62 would be the number one seller though with about 75% of all Cadillacs sold. This Black beauty is a great example of what the series 62 was all about. The bright work is the first thing that you will notice when looking at the car. The black paint against all the stainless and chrome pulls you in. The huge bumpers both front and rear are in excellent condition with no signs of pitting the finish is deep and mirror like. All of the glass is in the same condition with no chips or scratches it is in great shape. Powering all of this metal and chrome is a 331 CI OHV V8 which in 1951 was a technological marvel. Producing 160 HP the 331 was in a class of its own back then. Popular with racecar drivers of the day these engines were known for their dependability and could be built to put out massive amounts of power. The engine is clean and original with even the oil bath still in place. Open the door and the interior is in excellent condition with no signs of wear. The paint on the dash is in great condition with it shining just as good as the exterior. A set of after market gauges are set under the middle of the dash just to make sure you can monitor everything as this car was built to be...
