Debuted in 1977, Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith II was a result of a variety of improvements to the Rolls-Royce models of the existing Silver Shadow range: most notably rack and pinion steering; modifications to the front suspension improved handling markedly. Externally, the bumpers were changed from chrome to alloy and rubber starting with the late 1976 Silver Shadows. These new energy absorbing bumpers had been used in the United States since 1974, as a response to tightening safety standards there. Initially, the long-wheelbase model did not have a separate name, but in 1976, with the introduction of the Silver Shadow II, the longer car was dubbed the Silver Wraith II.
Our car, chassis LRX 30238, was displayed to the public in 1977 at the iconic Geneva Motor Show.
Owned from new by Sheikh Youssef El-Khereiji from Ditco S.A., it is offered with a comprehensive Rolls-Royce service history as well as a detailed dossier produced during her re-commissioning. This comprehensive history file includes; Rolls-Royce build sheets, original hand books, service book with 15 stamps from Geneva's main Rolls-Royce dealer and documented works. These most recent works were carried out by Hilton & Moss and include a full re-paint, wooden trim refurbishment, brightwork renovated, new rubber seals, new water pump and reconditioned radiator.
Finished in the truly beautiful iconic 70's combination of Honey Gold with supple Dark Brown leather interior in fabulous condition. Also of note is the very rare option of small back window and no vinyl roof. Our car has wonderful bright Chrome-work and a stunning Gold-plated Spirt of Ecstasy adorns the hood.
The combination of her distinguished history, single ownership and low production (only 2135 ever produced) make our Silver Wraith II a very desirable opportunity for a discerning collector/user/driver.
