Rolls-Royce built the Corniche using the best traditions of British coach-building, only using materials of the finest quality, including Wilton carpeting, Connolly hide and burr walnut veneers, a necessarily lengthy process that took all of 20 weeks for the saloon and slightly longer for the more complex convertible. This painstaking attention to detail resulted in a price some 50% higher than the standard Silver Shadow. Nevertheless, demand for these more glamorous alternatives to the much more numerous Silver Shadow was strong right from the start.
Designed to be the Worlds best Cabriolet, the name "Corniche" was chosen because it symbolises the epitome of stylish touring and together with the higher cruising speeds and the ability to cover greater distances with the minimum of fatigue for driver and passengers, announced Rolls-Royce.
The car we are proud to offer for sale today was supplied new to the first owner, Mr William M Dearman, of Edmond Oklahoma city USA on the 4th August 1981 by Jackie Cooper imports.
The car has been finished from new in Highland green and trimmed in Sandalwood Connolly Hide piped Green. This example to this day remains in the same beautiful colour combination. With its powerful V8, 6.7 litre engine, automatic gearbox and beautiful interior our Rolls-Royce Corniche Convertible is ready to be enjoyed by its new owner.
