A dream for the Mustang collector or enthusiast
The stunning 1966 Ford Mustang Convertible featured here is finished in the factory color combination of Nightmist Blue Metallic over a two-tone blue interior and white power folding convertible top. This spectacular example was assembled at the San Jose, California, facility on January 29th 1966 and was dispatched to Los Angeles where it had been specially ordered by Hollywood Producer George Lehr. An accomplished producer who worked on such shows "The Man from UNCLE," "Police Woman," "The Eleventh Hour" along with numerous other films for MGM and 20th Century Fox, Mr. Lehr retired from production in the early 1980's. He spent the remainder of his career teaching at the University of Sothern California's School of Cinema. As the vehicle's single owner, Mr. Lehr meticulously maintained his prized Mustang throughout its life. An accompanying notepad documents all the services between 1975 and 1988 while the car still wears its original California black license plates as verified by an accompanying 1968 registration copy. This Mustang presents exceptionally well; it has had one repaint and a new interior was fitted. The date code correct, original 289ci V8 engine is present and is still equipped with its California emissions equipment. The underside presents as one would expect a Southern California car to appear, and even displays some of the factory red oxide primer. Another particular point of interest is the 20th Century Fox parking sticker still present on the bottom left corner of the windshield. With outstanding single California ownership, provenance, and spectacular condition, this Mustang Convertible presents a rare opportunity to procure a one owner California black plate car. Classic cars have proven to be among the most resilient and rewarding investments in recent years with the Historic Automobile Group Index (HAGI) jumping 39% in 2013, 16% in 2014 and 17% in 2015 while posting gains of 467% over the last 10 years.
