The Mercedes-Benz 170 V was presented at the 26th International Motor Show in Berlin in 1936. This model, equipped with a four-cylinder Ottomotor M136 petrol engine, was not only technically and stylistically more modern than its predecessor, the 170 V, but also more powerful. It is therefore no surprise that the 170 V was the most produced Mercedes-Benz vehicle of the pre-war period.According to an excerpt from the order book, this vehicle was delivered to the Army High Command in Berlin as a Cabriolet B in May 1939. According to its previous owner, this vehicle ended up in England at the end of the war and was later equipped with new bodywork by the company ‘Hooper’ (London). Of particular interest is the basket weave from which the mid-section of the body and the seats were made. This vehicle was in the possession of a collector for many years and was later sold in Belgium, where it was also restored. It then came to Germany in 1990 and was then sold to me in 2015.This vehicle was inspected and overhauled from 2015 to 2017 by an accomplished and certified mechanic and any defects were repaired..Below are details of the maintenance work done on this vehicle and assessments of its condition:Paintwork: The paintwork on this vehicle is in perfect condition.Bodywork: The body is flawless.Windscreen and wiper: There are no flaws on the glass.Tyres: The 185 SR 15 tyres have a profile of approx. 6 mm Passenger area: This vehicle was equipped in England with a basket weave and the seats were covered in red leather.
