Starting with two Austin 1800 UTE's in 2006, Danny Baird decided to develop a Panel Van version of the Austin 1800 UTE with suggestions by a friend Jason Cavanagh. With help from Graham Lord on the sheet-metalwork, his father and father-in-law he commenced a 3 and a half year build to build his dream Austin. Sourcing a container full of 1800 spares from the UK, the plan was to build something unique and to the highest specification.

No expense was spared and the incredible workmanship began with a 1972 Holden HQ Panel Van being the donor for the roof. The rear opening tailgate / door is made up of another UTE rear cab window and the original tailgate. The seating arrangement was changed to conform with the seat belt regulations, hence two seats and not the original bench seat. A thorough 4-page engineers report is nothing but congratulatory on the final product.

From any angle the stunning metallic Green paintwork is to be admired, as are the lines and fabulous coachwork. The interior is finished to the highest standard with Light Tan hide, a wonderful wooden rimmed steering wheel and polished pedals.
