**Oscar India - V580, formally known by the AMOC as Series 4**
Production of the V8 had been halted when Company Developments called in the receivers in late 1974 and did not recommence until 1976\\. One of the first jobs of the new owners was to thoroughly revise the V8 culminating in the car, code named 'Oscar India' or in old AMOC speak, the Series 4\\. The Oscar India was unveiled at the Birmingham International Motor Show in October 1978 (Oscar India = October Introduction, from the phonetic alphabet). Certainly, the car had become more refined and luxurious, automatic transmission was virtually standard - thus AML began calling it 'The V8 saloon'.
The Aston Martin V8 Oscar India for sale at DD Classics is the later V580 spec, finished in a beautiful Salisbury Blue metallic with BBS wheels. This is an incredible opportunity for any discerning classic car collector as our car has had just one former owner and previously registered at what is known as "Billionaires Row" in London. Completely unmolested and in original condition, it is one of the best available on the market today.
Inside the Oscar India is in fabulous condition, with Magnolia hide, stunning burr walnut dash and door trim. The last time wood was seen in an Aston Martin was in the DB2/4.
Also accompanying the car is a history file which includes numerous invoices, original book pack with original warranty card and the stamped service book. A mechanical recommission was carried out by Chiltern Aston Martin Heritage centre at the cost of £16,670 in February 2016, since then the car has only travelled 521 miles.
Our car benefits from the Torqueflite three speed automatic, having only completed 10,400 miles from new it is a fabulous daily driver. Being 1 of just 291 Aston Martin Oscar India's manufactured it is also exceptionally rare, it is also the first AMV8 with revised chrome/white/green wings badge, making it a must have for any classic car/ Aston Martin collector.
