For 1993, Ford wanted to send off the third generation Mustang, also known as the Fox Body, properly. To commemorate the end of a generation, Ford's Special Vehicles Team (SVT) created the penultimate Fox Body Cobra: The SVT Cobra R. Power and transmission options were the same as that found in the standard Cobra. What differentiated the Cobra R was a dedicated effort to weight savings, with an absence of a radio, speakers, wiring and antenna, A/C, foglights, sound deadening, rear seat, nor any power options with manual steering, manual windows, manual door locks, manual mirrors, and manual seats. All in all, roughly 450lbs were saved from the base Cobra.

With a limited production run of only 107 units, the Cobra R was destined to be collectible. Presented here is #17\\.
