The V8 Vantage Oscar India was produced from 1978 - 1986 and formally known as the Series 2. There were three variants, the V540 OI, V580 and V580 BBS. When the standard V8 Coupe received updates known as the "Oscar India", the Vantage received much the same treatment. The rear spoiler became much neater and fully integral, the bonnet became smoother with a closed bonnet bulge that was used across the range, V8 Coupe, V8 Volante and V8 Vantage. The only external differences between the standard V8 Coupe and V8 Vantage was the large front air dam, blanked off grille and badges. The interior was more luxurious than the earlier V8 Vantage with wood veneers used for the dash and door cappings. Powered by a 400 bhp, 5,340 cc DOHC alloy V-8 engine with four Weber downdraft carburetors, the Series II V8 Vantage was tested by Motor magazine on April 25, 1981, produced a 0-60 time of only 5.2 seconds and was deemed the fastest accelerating production car in the world at the time. It also had a top speed of over 180 mph making the V8 Vantage quite the trans-continental barn-stormer.

This V8 Vantage Oscar India V580 was ordered new by Mr. J. Pierce, the founder of Ranger Oil. It was shipped from Aston Martin Lagonda Limited to its Canadian distributor on February 4, 1982 destined for its first and only family ownership, the Pierce family. Mr. Pierce wanted the ultimate specification and ultimate power of the day.

This V8 Vantage has just received the following in our workshops: Complete cosmetic restoration (bare metal all brightwork), a conversion to original European chrome bumper specification, a Harvey Bailey handling kit and complete servicing throughout to ensure immediate gratification and use by its new owner.
