### OVERVIEW
**1979 Porsche 935**
Chassis: 930 990 0029
Sold new to Ted Field's Interscope team, chassis 930 990 0029 made its competition debut at the 1979 24 Hours of Daytona a mere two weeks after taking delivery of the car. For the occasion Field was joined by Danny Ongais and Hurley Haywood. Starting from 8th, the #0 car took a legendary debut victory. In a nail biting finish Ongais had to nurse the car for the final stint with a failing turbocharger, but had built up enough of a lead that he was able to take the checkered flag at a modest 20 miles per hour. For the remainder of the 1979 IMSA GT season 0029 would end up on the podium an additional 4 times.
In 1980, after the car was replaced with latest version of the 935, the 935/79 was sold to Vasek Polak. It remained in storage for the next 17 years, and then in 1997 it was sold to Jim Torres of Burbank Coach Works. He would go on to have the car completely restored for historic racing. Most recently 0029 was owned by Frenchman Jean Guittard, and was regularly raced in historic events in Europe such as the Le Mans Classic.
Since arriving at Canepa the Daytona winner has undergone a complete mechanical and cosmetic restoration by Canepa Motorsport. It looks and drives now just as it did the moments before it rolled out to conquer Daytona in February of 1979.
This is ultimate factory built 935. With its slightly larger engine, bigger brakes from the 935/78 Moby Dick car, an inverted transmission, and a single, large KKK K-36 turbo it was the final factory development of one of the greatest racecars of all time, and you can own and drive it.
