First of all, the GT/CS were only available in a coupe, there were no convertibles or fastbacks produced. The taillights are from a 1965 Thunderbird, and strike a very close resemblance to the Shelby Mustang taillights, a pop-off gas cap similar to the Shelbys is also in the rear to add to the appearance. Also non-functional fiberglass side scoops, fiberglass trunk lid and quarter extensions, fog lights, unique decals/body striping, chrome quarter panel script, and a blacked out front grille without the running horse emblem have all been add to provide a more aggressive look and complete the GT/CS package. According to the Marti report 3,867 1968 Mustang GT/CS models were produced, and they were only produced in the San Jose plant.
