1962 saw the introduction of the Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud III which was to be the final variant of the factory bodied standard steel saloon. At first glance it would appear that the all new Silver Cloud III was merely a Silver Cloud II with different headlamps. The introduction of the twin headlamps was clearly the most obvious change, but the differences did not end there. Further changes included the introduction of smaller bumper over riders and the re positioning of the front indicators and side lamps into one single unit on the front wing, resulting in an arguably more attractive appearance. Mechanically speaking the Silver Cloud III was issued with larger 9:1 compression ratio carburettors, improved power steering to aid smoother movement at parking speed and a Lucas vacuum-advance distributor to aid fuel consumption, making it almost identical in mechanical specification to the Bentley S3 Continental that was being produced at the same time. Chassis No LSKP 413 was completed and delivered to its first owner, Mr K H Kubald in August of 1965 finished in shell grey (ICI M 151-2582) and trimmed in black leather (VM 8500) It was supplied through the Rolls-Royce agent in Cologne and delivered to his home in Wunstorf, Germany. Some fifty years on from its original delivery, Chassis No LSKP 413 still remains in the same family and has never changed hands, making this beautiful car a one family owner car from new. It has been carefully maintained by Rolls-Royce specialists throughout its life and remains in very good condition having travelled just 48,000 kilometres from new. Most recently, Chassis No LSKP 413 has been prepared mechanically in our workshops and sympathetically improved to showroom condition cosmetically. IT comes complete with tools, handbook and the original purchase certificate issued in 1965. This most interesting Silver Cloud III represents a genuine opportunity to acquire a low mileage, one family owned car which has been cared for and maintained to a very high standard throughout its entire life.
