In 1958, Fiat sent approximately 200 Fiat 600's to the famed Italian design house, Ghia, to create what would become one of the rarest Fiats ever produced. The Jolly, which was twice the price of the standard 600, was marketed to the wealthy elite of Europe and the USA. These unique and compact cars were carried on the yachts of these lucky owners, and provided a chic means of transport when the yachts were moored at islands and marinas. It is estimated that less than 100 of these cars exist today, making them extremely rare and highly desirable.

This example was sold new in California and is believed to be 1 of 32 used as a taxi on the island of Catalina off the coast of Los Angeles. This car presents in a stunning Cream over a unique wicker interior. After its import to Australia in 2005, it was subject to a ground up restoration to factory specification, including an engine rebuild, refreshed seats, soft top and a bare metal respray. The paintwork and chrome work is impeccable.

The 633cc 4-cylinder engine is mounted above the rear wheels and is paired with a 4-speed manual. The car is in excellent mechanical condition having been meticulously maintained and the gearbox feels smooth and precise, making this example a pleasure to drive.

A history file remains with this Jolly, including service receipts, import documents, an original Jolly brochure and newspaper clipping. It has excellent provenance, which is rare to find especially with these vehicles. With less than 100 Jolly's remaining, this is an excellent opportunity to own a unique piece of Fiats history.
