Up for sale in our Tampa showroom is a stunning 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air resto mod. With the exception of the modern aluminum wheels, this '55 Bel Air looks about as original as it did the day it rolled off the assembly line. The white-on-red paint is eye-catching from a distance, but it is the attention to details that will have this car drawing crowds wherever you take it with clean chrome trim, emblems and, of course, the iconic airplane hood ornament. Even the trunk is a time capsule! Inside, however, the interior has been fully customized with red velour throughout, diamond plate-look floor mats and a custom shift lever. Hidden just below the original factory radio is a modern AM/FM/CD/MP3 stereo head unit also has an SD card slot and USB port, and this is all played through a four--speaker Rockford Fosgate Punch speaker system. Ensuring that this 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air is a true head turner is the V8 that rumbles to life under the hood. Starting life as a 350, this engine has bored .30 over giving it a displacement that is now 355 CID, and it has also been upgraded with top-of-the line components including the forged pistons, rods, valves, rockers and heads. The heavy cam and 10.5:1 compression ratio make this car an even bigger head-turner when it is fired up, and better yet, there are only about 500 miles on the engine, Sitting on top of the engine is an aluminum high rise, dual-plane intake and a Quick Fuel 750 carb. This engine is mated to a 5-Speed BorgWarner manual transmission, which sends power to the rear wheels through a 12-bolt Chevy rear end, and the driveshaft and u-joints are brand new. Driving this 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air will be just as fun as parking it as it has been upgraded with disc brakes up front and drilled rotors and air suspension in the rear. Options for the car include vinyl interior, AM/FM/C radio, seat belts, power brakes, aluminum wheels and radial tires.
