Tandem Four-Shell Seating with Table by Charles and Ray Eames for Herman Miller

US$4,500.00

United States, 1960s

Charles and Ray Eames developed this tandem shell seating for Herman Miller in 1963 as a comfortable solution for heavily trafficked spaces. A row of four vinyl-upholstered fiberglass-reinforced armchairs, two in raw umber and two in ultramarine, attach to cast aluminium spiders that are mounted on a steel T-beam. In the middle sits a white laminate tabletop with a dark vinyl edge. Once seen in airports and other public venues, the seating is perfect for a lounge or modern rec room.

The table measures 22.25″ wide x 17.25″ high.

A corresponding tandem three-shell piece is also available.
