US$449.68 materialporcelaininformationWe all know Floris Wubben from his self-made machines that press vases. He now made a new installation that shapes light objects by fire. Within the installation, a gas burner’s flame etches a texture onto an unbaked porcelain globe. The porcelain reacts to the high temperature, causing various layers to burst from the globe.As the fire burns off more and more of the globe’s layers, a translucent porcelain object emerges. The distance between the porcelain and the flame, as well as the speed at which the porcelain object revolves in the installation, affects its final texture.
