"Steel is often where our thoughts begin," says Gabriel Kakon, who with brother-in-law Scott Richler created Gabriel Scott. With the handmade Marx stool, the designers' sturdy starting point takes the form of a boldly geometric base. The matte black steel is accented by gleaming brass hardware and supports a seat upholstered in charcoal-hued herringbone fabric topped with a coordinating pillow.
