The DSW (Dining Height Side Chair Wood) chair by Charles and Ray Eames is, like the armchair, a design classic. The chair was developed for the ‘Low Cost Furniture Design’ competition of the MOMA in New York, in collaboration with Zenith Plastics. The result was the first industrially manufactured chair of plastic. Nowadays the chair series is produced by Vitra with a propylene seat shell. The seat is available in 7 colours and in this example combined with a beautiful wooden base.

It is also possible to upholster the seat, or to combine the plastic seat with a cushion. The wide variety of parts makes an endless number of combinations possible.

The Vitra DSW base can also be supplied with glides for soft carpeting or felt glides for hard floors. Available in the colours: black, poppy red, white, ocean blue, grey, cream and mustard.
