De DAR (Dining Height Armchair R-Wire Base) by Charles and Ray Eames is a design classic. The chair was first presented at the ‘Low Cost Furniture Design’ competition of the MOMA in New York. The seat shell of plastic was later combined with great variety of bases and produced in the millions.

Nowadays the chair series is produced by Vitra with a propylene seat shell. The shell is available in 8 colours and in this example combined with a beautiful wooden base.

It is also possible to upholster the seat, or to combine the plastic shell with a cushion. The great variety of bases makes an endless number of combinations possible.

The Vitra DSR base can also be supplied with glides for soft carpeting or felt glides for hard floors. Available in the colours: black, poppy red, white, ocean blue, grey, cream and mustard.
