The Big White Pot is one of the great design classics by Hella Jongerius. In 1997 the Big White Pot appeared as the result of her exploration of medieval pots. Hella Jongerius glued pieces from various pots together to form a new pot. Together with the Red White Vase, the Big White Pot was made into an industrial product. The alignment of the various pieces was maintained during the development of the industrial product so that it looks as if the pot is made of shards. Production is in hands of Royal Tichelaar Makkum, a company excelling in craftsmanship and expertise that has produced high-quality products for centuries.
