The Karuizawa Distillery was established in 1955 in the foothills of Mount Asama – an active volcano. The area is a popular mountain resort and the distillery is the highest in Japan at 850m above sea level. Everything from Karuizawa is really good.

This particular bottle is a new release from the remaining stock of the legendary closed Karuizawa distillery. It was distilled in 1991 and bottled in 2016. Matured in sherry cask for 25 years. Only 85 bottles ever released. We can’t recommend this enough!
