Chichibu distillery is a small distillery with only nine full-time employees. It is owned by Venture whisky, which was founded in 2004, in Chichibu city, Saitama, just outside of Tokyo (hence its name). This particular offering is aged in port pipe barrels. The palate is sweet custard and vanilla, with a hint of citrus and maltiness. As with everything else from the Chichibu distillery, Ichiro's Malt Chichibu "Port Pope" is highly recommended. Distilled in 2009 and was bottled in 2003 with only 4000 bottles ever released!
