Top shoulder or better. The Pichon-Longueville family lived at the Château until 1933. In 1933 the Bouteillier family, who also owned Château Palmer, purchased the estate and during the tenure of Jean Bouteillier, the Chateau achieved great respect, outshining it’s famous sister across the road; Pichon-Lalande. The beautiful Chateau, as it exists today, was built by Raoul de Pichon-Longueville in 1851. It was bought over by insurance giant AXA in 1987 who restored the Chateau to its former glory in 1998.
