An extension of Baas' original "Smoke project," exhibited at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London and the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam, "Where There's Smoke" is a collection of 25 design classics that have been burned and preserved with transparent epoxy in Studio Baas and den Herder's signature hand. The series debuted at Moss in 2004, and includes Baas' reinterpretation of work by Charles and Ray Eames, Charles Rennie Mackintosh, and Antoni Gaudí, among others. The "Zig Zag" chair in Chamber's Collection #2 is Baas' charred treatment of Gerrit Rietveld's minimalistic seating solution, designed for the architect's Rietveld Schröder House in 1934.
