UNIQLO Andy Warhol Soup Can Tote Bag
UNIQLO Andy Warhol Soup Can Tote Bag
US$19.90
Andy Warhol and his Pop art-peers upended the commonly understood distinctions between "high" and "low," making art that blatantly celebrates consumerism and mass culture. In _Campbell's Soup Cans_ he quite literally reproduced an object of mass consumption. When he first exhibited this series of thirty-two canvases in 1962-the number corresponds to the soup varieties Campbell's sold at that time-each one was arranged on a shelf, like groceries in a store.
A wide variety of Warhol's classic _Campbell's Soup Cans_, 1962-a sequential work in MoMA's collection-are neatly organized just as the artist intended his original series to be displayed on this wearable homage to the Pop art-icon. Occupying an important position at the intersection between fine art and popular culture, Warhol's work is ideal for a project such as UNIQLO at MoMA. This piece is part of the MoMA Special Edition product collection. Made of durable canvas. Wipe clean with a damp cloth.
