Glacier is inspired by the Perito Moreno glacier in the Glaciares National Park in the south of Argentina, part of a UNESCO world heritage site and important center for biodiversity and wilderness. One of the most famous attractions in Patagonia, Perito Moreno is one of the largest fresh-water reservoirs worldwide, but is threatened by rising temperatures and dams planned in the region. As the artist's other carpet works, Glacier proposes a rethinking and awareness of the natural resources and landscapes that coexist and interact with human activity, specifically that of a melted glacier where water has taken over and not much ice is left.
