This vibrant porcelain plate features a detail of Jean-Michel Basquiat's 1983 painting _Horn Players_ (1983), and stars Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie as the two depicted musicians. The New York born artist, who was deeply influenced by music and formed the experimental rock band _Gray_, was discovered as a graffiti painter in 1981. Basquiat soon gained international notice and critical acclaim for his visionary fusion of multicultural symbols, scathing social commentary, and frenetic graphic style.
