Degas: The Dancing Lesson Print
Degas: The Dancing Lesson Print
US$5.95
This print features a reproduction of Edgar Degas's work _The Dancing Lesson_ (c. 1877) from the exhibition _Edgar Degas: A Strange New Beauty_. Beginning in the 1870s and continuing throughout his career, Degas explored every facet of dancers' lives at the Paris Opéra. Using a variety of mediums and approaches, he investigated the organization of multiple figures in space; the representation of movement as ballerinas pirouette or leap into the air; the flexibility of the female body as tutu-clad figures twist and turn into seemingly impossible poses; and the luminosity of artificial lighting, a technical advance of the period that changed the nature of nineteenth century entertainment.
This reproduction is printed using state-of-the-art printing technology and materials. The high-density pigments provide rich and long-lasting colors and tonalities. Paper is acid- and lignin-free, designed to preserve color and detail for a hundred years or more.
Please note the 11x14 size print is matted and ships within two business days. All other sizes are produced on order and ship within 2-3 weeks.
