The Type C was the third transformation of Auto Union’s monoposto and represented the most powerful development of the 16-cylinder race car, producing 520 hp. With this race car, the engine was designed to provide optimum torque at low speeds. The vehicle was challenging to handle but the acceleration was marvelous! Auto Union Type C dominated the racing world of 1936 -1937 winning 6 of 12 races and its talented driver, Bernd Rosemeyer won European Championship.
