Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 Gran Sport 1930 Mille Miglia

US$480.00

In 1930 the Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 GS was the brand’s most competent race car. The automobile benefitted from Vittorio Jano’s exemplary engineering and design direction. One of the most impressive features of the 1750 GS was a 6-cylinder in-line engine that operated at a maximum output of 85hp to 102 hp depending on which model it was (some had their cylinder heads welded). Regardless of whether the vehicle generated 85 hp or 102 hp, it was invisible. It was light, agile, and powerful. In the 1930 Mille Miglia endurance race, Tazio Nuvolari and his co-pilot Guidotti raced their 6C 1750 GS with starting number 84 against their competitor Achille Varzi also driving a 6C 1750 GS. A heated competition unfolded where both drivers demonstrated their exceptional skills. The story goes, that after sundown, Nuvolari turned off the headlights as his car approached Varzi from behind. When he was immediately behind his arch rival, Nuvolari switched on the three red glaring headlights and overtook the outwitted Varzi at full throttle to win a commanding victory, who achieved an average speed of over 100km/hr.

The rich burgundy of the CMC Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 GS with its masterfully applied graphics on the hood has the power to woo just as the original motorcar. This storied miniature delights and delivers with uncompromising detail and gorgeous finishing. Limited edition of 2,000 units.
