A number of globe manufacturers were active in the United States during the first half of the 20th century. C. F. Weber & Co was based in the Chicago area, a major center of globe publishing during this period.
Based on the union of two school supply houses, C.F. Weber & Co. and A.H. Andrews & Co., the Weber Costello Company was founded in Chicago in 1907 and rapidly became the dominant globe manufacturer in the United States. The company has produced globes for such notable firms as Cram, Rand McNally, Nystrom, Hammond and Denoyer-Geppert (Warner 24). After WWII Weber Costello Co. was sold. As Arthur H. Robinson states.
