An Edwardian silver plated giant pocket watch with Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds dial. The case is numbered 1527071, the outer silver case of plain form with green leather backing and green velvet interior, the London hallmarks rubbed, maker's mark G&S Co. Ltd. for Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company.
The Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company Limited was established in 1880 and was located at 112 Regent Street on the corner of Glasshouse Street, in the heart of London's shopping district. In 1952 they amalgamated with Garrard & Co Ltd, the crown jewellers, a title which was bestowed on the company by Queen Victoria in 1843.
