An unusual burr yew, and ivory strung Cigar Box, the rectangular top inset with a watercolour depicting '1st Guards 1815', signed lower right, the cedar-lined interior with two compartments.
Apart from the use of the expensive timber burr yew and the unusual watercolour gracing the top of our Cigar Box, it is unusual to see a hinge with so many lugs, in this case 27, which is always the sign of a good quality box.
